Planet earth will be around for a VERY long time and to be so naive as to think that we will wipe it out is ridiculous. I asked my son "what will your grandchildren's lives be like" and he responded, they will probably be space like people. I then asked him if he thought the planet would exist for them, to which he replied, " yeah, but only if asteroids dont smash us to smitherenes". Our reason for being on this planet is akin to the little birds that sit perched on an elephants back. I think we are here to watch, and look after the planet first and foremost. It is funny to think that people still think that wealth is the be all and end all, not realising that it is totally in-consequential(?) in the end. Just look at the civilizations that came before us and how long they survived with bare wealth and a simbiotic belief about the environment they lived in. 10000 years is such a small goal in the timeline of this planet. I for one would like to pass down a letter to one of my descendants that continues as long. Now that would be a blast! Nice.
